You must watch this What’s In My Makeup Bag video, if only to see my miraculous hair transformation in the last twenty seconds! In one frame I have quite an uninspiring ‘do – I’d just let my hair down from a mini-ponytail – and in the next, I have volume not dissimilar to that of Rachel from Friends. (See photo above.) I really should have left the interim footage in, because all did was rummage around heartily in my roots with my fingertips – nothing particularly skilful – but everything just seemed to fall into place.

Come to think of it, I did have almost half a can of dry shampoo in my hair and also a few bursts of Oribe Dry Texturising Spray, so no doubt that helped. Anyway, I’ve gone off-topic: the video is actually about the contents of my summer makeup bag. Products include a warm, reddish-toned eye palette, my favourite brown mascara, a couple of very wearable lipsticks and two foundation options for a very natural finish.

The final look isn’t actually that summery – I got distracted and started to do a smokey eye – but it’s a true representation of the makeup that I’ve been wearing for the past few months. As I said in the spring edition of this series of What’s In My Makeup Bag?, the seasonal reference is more for you to keep track of the videos rather than the promise of an appropriate “look” using new collections.
