A couple of weeks ago I mentioned a 30% Friends and Family discount code for luxury online shopping destination Very Exclusive and so many of you raved about it that they have organised a sale preview just for readers of A Model Recommends!* You’ve got 24 hours to snap up the designer bits and pieces you want at 50% off, ending at midnight tonight (8th June). Here’s what I think are the best buys and the shrewdest investments – the blanket VIP discount of 50% is deducted at checkout, so when you’re browsing just chop the price you see in half. Maths made easy. The code to access the discount is 6HULM – happy shopping!
*Update: a couple of people having trouble with the code – it is to be used on the SALE PREVIEW section only as it’s a special sale code, not one that can be applied site-wide. The links above and directly below will automatically show you only the sale preview items.
Very Exclusive VIP Sale Preview
The Ridiculous Temptation Buy
Do I? Don’t I? The cat (above) looks – quite frankly – deranged, but I am drawn to the bonkers design of this mini clutch. The cat is Choupette, the brand is Karl Lagerfeld – if you’re into your little fashion references then this is a fun way of updating your summer wardrobe. £135 down to £67.50 here.
The Sensible Buy
McQ Alexander McQueen at half price? Yes please. Especially when it’s something so absolutely wearable – the classic black skater dress, impeccably cut in a lightweight ribbed fabric that means it can be worn throughout the year. The foil back detail is beautiful and taken straight from the SS15 show – it makes this dress something truly special. £335 down to £167.50 here.
The Little Treat-To-Self Buy
A bit of Zoe Karssen to bung on with jeans or shorts or bikini: the softest t-shirt material in the most summery shade with the good old Karssen bat logo. Predictable, but you know that it’s always going to look good! £30 after discount here.
The Decadent Buy
Oh my God – I saw this Halston Heritage Gunmetal Cocktail dress last month and got itchy button-pressing fingers over it. It’s properly Bond Girl, but easy to wear – a striking neckline, a beautiful shape, but unlike a strapless dress you won’t be hoisting it up all night and the length is just spot-on. I don’t see many classy sequin dresses, but this one would look good all year round, whether you’re doing post-beach cocktails or throwing it on beneath a faux-fur at Christmastime. £430 down to £215 here.
The Smart Summer Investment Buy
You rarely see smart structured daytime dresses in the summer collections; usually it’s all about relaxed fits, soft draping and casual detailing. This Marc by Marc Jacobs Pencil Dress is unusual in that it’s absolutely smart enough to wear to even the most important meeting yet it still manages to look effortless and understated. The tailoring is superb, and I love that the straps are nude so that the whole thing has the instant impact of a strapless dress but on closer inspection is more chic and demure. It’s also a timeless kind of design that would work year after year – a brilliant summer investment piece. £280 down to £140 here.
The Stocking-Up Buy
I can’t have too many pairs of Converse – they are my weekend and off-duty footwear staple. I happily pay full price, but getting them for half is a bit of a bonus! Here they are in dark grey – £25.
