Behold: for the Tom Ford Beauty Collection has launched. And all who set eyes upon it shall covet, especially the eye quad in Cognac Sable.
Is it really that nice? I hear you say. Yes, it really is. Each piece feels like a prop from a movie set – the packaging is half Art-Deco, half Ridiculously-Decadent-Modern, a pinch of Luxury-Yacht, and, jammed in there right at the top, the golden logo on all of our lips. TF. The man himself.
Now I have a bit of a thing for anything Tom Ford – I like the man’s style. He has style in oodles. (I’m angling for some kind of work here, obviously, but don’t let on, will you?) It’s exactly my kind of style, too. If my house was a person, it would be – if not Tom Ford – Tom Ford’s granddad in the Sixties. It’s all smoked glass and polished wood, as you’ll catch a glimpse of in the video below. My house was like this before Tom launched himself into the fashion scene, but my point is is that I feel ‘at one’ with his take on things – and so I jumped at the chance to film the new makeup collection last week. I couldn’t wait!
It was so easy to create a flawless, amazing look – everything performed brilliantly and looked perfect both on and off camera. I tested in daylight, in artificial light, in low-light – the shades were flattering and the formulas long-lasting. You’d expect that to be the case when paying absolute top-dollar for your makeup, but it pleases me to be able to confirm that it’s good! As with any high-end, luxury brand you’re paying a proportion of your cash for the name and the relative exclusivity, but I do think that some of the products (especially the eye quads and the lipsticks) are true objects of beauty.
Time to stop gushing on and let you watch the video – I’ll be reviewing some of the products separately and more thoroughly once I’ve worn them in a bit, but until then: here’s my take on the ‘nude’ campaign look starring the gorgeous Lara Stone!
