This is the first of what will no doubt be a whole slew of candle-related posts; it’s getting nearer to Christmas and I’m working up to filming my annual candle video again! Tom Daxon’s Under Milk Wood definitely makes the final cut – it has the most gorgeously delicate sandalwood fragrance, warm and musky but not too overpowering on the woody notes. It’s a very feminine sandalwood – it reminds me of Tom Ford’s Santal Blush, which has an almost “creamy” woodiness to it. Light and exotic rather than dark and masculine.
Tom Daxon is rather niche – you can find the fragrances at Liberty, but I haven’t seen the candles anywhere on my shopping travels, only online. A nice brand to search out, then, if you’re a candle connoisseur (or buying for one) and want something a bit different. It’s definitely a luxury buy but the fragrance is top quality and the presentation is just lovely – a dark glass jar that looks black in daylight but is a deep, midnight blue when the flame is lit and the glow shines through it.
You can find Tom Daxon’s candles online here, Under Milk Wood is priced at £55.
