I have made a Lancome makeup video using some of their latest eye products – the Hypnose Star mascara, which is an all-singing all-dancing lash-building lash-separating mascara, and the Liner Plume, a cool little felt-tip-pen-style eyeliner. (Could I have actually used any more hyphens in that sentence?) I spent quite a few weeks practising the looks that I was going to film, so I hope that you like them as much as I do – you can see from the snapshots on this page that they are all quite different!
The first look, called the “Betty Boop” look, shows how striking it can be just to have big, separated lashes against perfect skin. I love it! You’ll see that I get right down to the base of the lashes with the Hypnose Star mascara – it almost forms an eyeliner as it makes the lashes look deep and thick at the bottom. The lick of Liner Plume at the end creates a sexy flick – it was so easy to use, and I am usually rubbish with that type of eyeliner!
The second look takes the simple eye and makes it smokier and sexier. Be warned that it is messy using dark shadows, but if you wet the brush beforehand it gives you a little more control. (Thanks to my chum – and top makeup artist -Dina for that little helping hand!) The key is in the blending – blend blend blend! – but actually with the lashes looking amazing it’s quite hard to mess it up. You can always use Q-Tips (ear buds) soaked in makeup remover to re-shape and then blend out the hard lines again.
Look three is my classic daytime look. You know this one well, but I think you’ll like the shadows that I use. They are really natural but have a pearly quality that reflects the light and brightens the eyes. I shall be using them again in videos to come, I’m sure. The Perle Ambrée (see info) has gone straight into my daily makeup bag!
OK, enough of my chit-chat, have a look at the video. All of the products that I used are listed in order below the video pane, but if you have any questions then leave a comment!
