The Travalo – Build Your Own Aircraft

by | Nov 24, 2012

I won’t lie; these Travalo perfume atomisers could do with being a bit cheaper – especially if you want to have a few of them for different scents – but they are brilliant for people who travel a lot. Even for people who don’t travel a lot, actually, because they are the best way I’ve found for carrying perfume in your handbag. They’re compact, almost weightless and easy to refill – never again will you have to lug about a ten-tonne glass bottle of Terry du Gunzberg’s Flagrant Delice! (Or was that just me?) You get about fifty sprays of perfume from a full Travalo, so you only need to refill it about once a month, depending on whether you’re a frugal fragrance spritzer or one of those people who literally suffocates everyone in their train carriage every morning…

If you are a constant traveller then you’ll love these little atomisers for getting you the all-clear with your carry-on toiletries – I actually use one for my fragrance and the other for my Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist! You can get them in loads of different colours to make it easy to tell everything apart, but do make sure you have a little sniff before spritzing anything onto your face! I can’t imagine that a face-full of perfume would do your skin that much good…

You can buy Travalos at FeelUnique with free delivery HERE, they’re £11.99 each. They’re made from “Aircraft Grade Aluminium”, which means that you can make a plane out of them if you collect enough. Probably. If you were really small, say, 2mm in height, you could probably make an aircraft out of a singular Travalo – just add wings and off you go!

Travalo alternative? The “Flo”. One penny dearer, slightly different styling (cuter, I think!) but not as utterly simple to refill – this one needs unscrewing, whereas the Travalo just refills straight into the bottom. The Flo is £12 at John Lewis.

**UPDATE: on a quest to find the Travalo at a reasonable price (£12 is too, too much in my opinion!) I have a better deal! £6.85 at Amazon! Page is HERE.
