I thought that I’d give one of the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2015 makeup looks a whirl. On the D&G website, this particular look is described as being (to paraphrase) “naturally warm and sensual”, with “golden hues” and “soft pinks”. It sounds more like a summer look to me, but I’m not complaining because usually I’m not that keen on the Autumn ones, with their dark brown scary lipsticks and russety blushers.
Anyway, this Dolce & Gabbana look is very pretty and wearable – I think that on the runway there was also a red lip look, but I fancied seeing what the double-pink would look like. Though I didn’t do my brows or define the lashline with a brown pencil, so I didn’t really follow the face chart that much. Or at all. Basically, I say I’ve given one of the looks a go but what I mean is that I’ve tested out the lipstick and cream shadow.
Regardless, I love the final effect – I’d never usually think of wearing a soft, pinky-lilac eyeshadow but it’s actually quite romantic and gorgeous.
The Perfect Mono Cream shadow in Antique Rose has a kind of dusky hue that makes it more sexy, less…myxomatosis. Paired with the lipstick (also called Antique Rose) it looks very feminine – it’s just a cloudy wash of colour (the mono cream eyeshadows have the most beautiful texture – really easy to apply and blend and incredibly long-lasting) and I love the matchy-matchy feel with the rosey-nude lipstick. I’ll definitely be giving this look another go, perhaps on video..
There are a couple of other shadows that I’ve been testing out – the middle shade in the photograph above, Leo Brown, is a kind of “old gold”. It looks a bit like the colour of a faded bruise, really very yellow in tone, and I can’t decide whether I love it or detest it! Coming to a video near you soon.
