How’s the Christmas shopping going? Started it yet? My festive buying usually happens one of two ways; either I buy everything online in plenty of time (Christmas 2007 and 2008) or I leave it until Christmas Eve (2009) and stand in Boots, crying. The problem is, I’m quite a picky buyer, and I like to give presents that are luxurious, useful and somewhat thoughtful.

Now you might think that beauty gifts totally lack imagination, but I feel that if you pick the right beauty gift, it’ll be a wonderful and decadent treat that someone would never buy for themselves. For this reason, I try and steer clear of shampoos, and haircare in general (too ‘everyday’ and necessary), anything ‘maintenance’ such as manicure sets (again, too functional), and go for luxury creams, oils and balms.

I’ve tried to include a variety of different beauty sets in this, the first ‘Volume’ of the gift guide – gifts for slightly different age groups and budgets – but there will be plenty more variety in subsequent videos, so please don’t be disheartened if this looks a little too luxury. I have many more ideas up my sleeve!
