Sunday Tittle Tattle: My name is Ruth and I am Messy.

It has taken me thirty-four years to come to the realisation that I am, fundamentally, a really messy person. I spend a colossal amount of time trying to sort things, but my space is never tidy. It doesn’t matter how many rooms I have to work with, I simply spread out my belongings to fill every surface and cupboard and shelf. Which is why I’m hoping that this Marie Kondo book can help me – The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying. Lots of people raving about it – but are those people quite as messy as me? Only time will tell! I’m going to try and get this read before I move back into my house, so that I can take half my stuff to the charity shop rather than unpacking it and being tempted into keeping it! You can find Marie Kondo’s book at Amazon here

How unbelievably lovely are these little bottles of potion from Lola’s Apothecary? Not a brand I’d heard of before, but a little box of stuff was sent to my PO Box and I fell in love with it immediately. It’s half Hogwarts-Spells-Laboratory and half Flower Fairies and I can’t wait to line up those little glass bottles in my new bathroom. Gorgeous – and the website is so good-looking, it makes you want to try a bit of everything! Take a look here.

dexter and the bear

I promised a dog picture this week, so here he is, the mad cockapoo that is Dexter. He’s currently gambolling about playing with his toy beaver (Justin Beaver) and I can’t get him to stay still, so you’ll have to make do with a week-old photo! Tearing through the woods as I bring up the rear with the pram. You can see more pet pics, every now and then, on the Dexter and the Bear Instagram.
