Sunday Tittle Tattle (noun?): everything from the week that I have forgotten to post about, in easy brunch-sized chunks…

1) Amazing online beauty store Cult Beauty (above) have recently relaunched their website in a slicker, faster and easier-to-use format. I think that it looks brilliant and there are some incredible makeup and skincare brands to be found. 2) The original purveyors of Cologne, 4711, have launched a new range called Nouveau Cologne. I think it’s fresher and more wearable than the original, more fruit and less herb! The original version has a large and loyal following but I think that the newer scent is probably a little more modern. No surprise, really, when you consider that 4711’s formula hasn’t changed all that much since the late 1700s! You can find the Nouveau range at Escentual.com – there’s a body lotion and shower gel, deodorant and body spray and I think that it’s actually the body range that’s newly-launched as I have seen the Eau de Cologne before.

3) Louise Young brushes. Oh my God. I’m aware that I may be a little late to the party on this one, but I have finally been able to try some and they are all magnificent! I must, must, must do a brush video soon and take you through my favourites – good brushes, especially eye brushes, make so much difference to makeup application, I think. I’m still partial to a bit of fingertip application when it comes to my base, but the joys of using a good bronzing or blush brush are unparalleled. 4) I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a copy of JK Rowling’s new book in my hands. I loved the first few Harry Potter books (not so much the last lot, but I won’t dwell on that in case I get berated by Potter fans!) and so I’m intrigued to find out what this new, adult novel is all about. Rowling’s previous (ridiculously massive) success is a bit of a double-edged sword in this case, I think; she has a worldwide audience who would buy into her every word, but on the other hand, it could be Potter that they love and not particularly the way in which she writes. Personally, I think she writes beautifully and has the most incredible imagination and so I’m hoping that The Casual Vacancy lives up to expectations. I’ll report back!
