Sunday Tittle Tattle

1) The in-shower Tangle Teezer. I’m not convinced by it, but that is wholly because I think that the original can’t really be improved upon! I absolutely cannot do without my Tangle Teezer for detangling my hair when it’s damp – I have one in shower, one in the bathroom cabinet, one in the bedroom and one in my desk drawer! The new “wet” version is designed for use in the shower and has a more curved shape and hollow centre. I find that because the bristles aren’t on one plane (they follow the curve of the brush handle) many of them don’t get right down into my hair, which is the reason that the original works so well. I also find it too wide to grip comfortably, and I don’t have small hands by any means. Has anybody else tried the new Aqua version? What do you think of it? You can find the whole range with free delivery at FeelUnique.com

2) I did some online shopping yesterday. What me? Yes! Try not to die of shock. (For those only just joining us on A Model Recommends, you may not pick up on the ironic tone. I’ll explain as quickly and simply as I can: I spend my life shopping online. It’s an illness.) Do you know what I bought yesterday? I’ll tell you! Some more Paige Verdugo jeans. This time in blue denim, rather than Black Overdye. I have to say, though, that the black overdyes are possibly the best black jeans that I have ever owned. They’re smart, comfortable and superbly flattering. I buy my Paige denim at Donna Ida.

3) Christmas. The old C-word. It’s not that far away, now, but hold off with your shopping panic because my Christmas Gift Guide videos will be out in the next fortnight! They are always quite a hoot to make, and I’m going all-out this year! I’m trying to persuade Mr AMR to dress up as Santa and sit in the background ho-ho-ing, but so far no luck. The cat, however, will have no choice about the dressing-up part. I haven’t decided what he’s going to be, yet, but suffice to say that it won’t be a cat. By the way, thanks so much for all of your get well comments – he is, I think, properly on the mend! (Those who missed the Autumn Newsletter can subscribe here – I’m going to send out another round of them tonight or tomorrow.)

4) Last thing on today’s list is this incredible bright blue shadow from Urban Decay. It’s part of the new Vice Palette, which is this year’s “Book of Shadows”. I was never too keen on the Book of Shadows – loved the powders, didn’t necessarily need all of the weird and wacky packaging that they came in. Last year’s had pop-out butterflies and built-in speakers! I prefer the sleek, chic styling of the Vice – black rubberised casing packed full with great shadow shades. The one that most stands out when you open the lid is Chaos, the truest, bluest blue. A proper partytime hue! The other colours don’t disappoint, either; there are some lovely vivid brights and lots of classy, wearable neutrals. I love Nevermind, Provocateur and Echo Beach. You can see the full range in my picture below, and you can find the palette (while stocks last) at HQHair online and Debenhams. It costs £42 for 20 shadows and a double-ended eye brush. Urban Decay shadows are fantastic, by the way – I know that I’ve included them lots in videos, but I don’t think I’ve ever said that outright, so there you go. They last exceptionally well, they apply beautifully and they are heavily pigmented, so a little always goes a long way. More Urban Decay shadows coming up next week!
