Sue Devitt Gel Bronzer SPF40

Sue Devitt Gel Bronzer SPF40 I have been messing about with bronzers over the last week, looking for ones that are good for taking us into the autumn months. I’m “fall”ing in love (sorry) with Sue Devitt’s Gel Bronzer, which you might think a strange choice for autumn, but do let me explain. Autumn bronzers, I think, have to make the most of our fading tans and our healthy, outdoorsy complexions. But they don’t want to be loaded with shimmery gold flecks or highlights, because – let’s face it – if the sun’s not out, they just look a little bit optimistic. The colour needs to be buildable so that it adapts to varying stages of paleness and the texture needs to be kind to skin that will be going through the typical autumnal ‘changes’ (central heating vs cold-snaps).

Sue Devitt’s Gel Bronzer ticks most boxes and then some; the soft, creamy gel applies smoothly and has good staying power. The colour is warm but doesn’t shimmer and it’s absolutely buildable; you can achieve quite a deep retro tan or sheer it right down to the palest hint of bronze. Part of me wishes that I had discovered it pre-summer, but the other part is thankful that I have it to take me through to the winter! I apply the gel bronzer with fingertips, but there’s a sponge applicator included also. If you’re applying over the top of foundation (or tinted moisturiser) then perhaps wait for five minutes or so until your base has really bedded in before you start smudging about with your paws!

Here I am creating an autumnal look with Sue Devitt’s Gel Bronzer (and a few other SD delights!) – this is a still from an upcoming video, so you’ll be able to see how it looks ‘live’ pretty soon! It’s available from LookFantastic with free delivery for £31: http://tidd.ly/59fa8373
