Recently I have been drinking a mug of Dr Stuart’s Tranquility Tea before bed and it has been sending me into the deepest, calmest sleep. I don’t think I have slept so well in years! I am already a great fan of Dr Stuart’s Detox Tea and so this new discovery has just secured Dr Stuart a permanent place in my tea cupboard. I’m not entirely sure whether or not it’s actually supposed to make you fall into a deep sleep, but so far this has been the (very welcomed!) effect.
Some people can’t bear the taste of herbal teas, and I used to be one of them. I have never drunk a cup of ‘real’ tea (or coffee, for that matter) in my entire life, and it was only five or six years ago that I first had a cup of peppermint tea. I found the idea of ‘infusions’ bizarre, but they had such a good effect on my digestive system – and my skin – that I soon found that I was drinking all sorts of herbal teas. Fennel, nettle, fresh mint, camomile – they all seemed to be very soothing and comforting. I can’t think of any bad points about herbal teas, really – they’re caffeine free (except green tea), calorie free, inexpensive and widely available.
I can’t promise that Dr Stuart’s Tranquility Tea will make you fall into a ridiculously deep sleep, but it’s worth a try if you find it hard to relax and unwind before bedtime. It has only been the last week or so that I have even drunk a herbal tea at night, but I think that the effects are now very clear. I even tried it on my (un)willing deputy tester last night and he fell into a deep sleep about ten seconds after saying “I’m not sure if it’s doing anything yet.” So far so good.
Models spend a huge amount of time travelling – arriving in strange countries at weird hours, taking night-flights, changing time-zones – and it’s nice to be able to take ‘a piece of home’ with you to regulate your life and create something of a bedtime routine. It really helps to keep your brain level and your spirits up, and it’s a darn sight kinder to the thighs and the hips than a nightly mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows!
If Dr Stuart could please now invent a tea called “Wake-Up Without Feeling Knackered”, that would be amazing.
Dr Stuart’s Tranquility Tea costs £1.97 for 20 individually sealed bags (handy!) from Waitrose.
