I interrupt normal service to tell you that the leopard print bardot dress I wore in my pregnancy announcement video has been reduced to £19.50 at ASOS. They style it as a sort of off-the-shoulder number on the website; I need to wear a bra otherwise my boobs disappear somewhere around my navel and so I wear it as a wide-necklined dress, which I think is slightly more sophisticated anyway if I do say so myself.
I love a bit of body-con at the moment: not because I’m particularly enamoured with my body and want to show it off, but because I spent most of my last pregnancy thinking that big, loose, bump-skimming dresses would be cute. Photographs of aforementioned “cute” dresses reveal that they actually made me look about seventy feet wide.
So “body-con” it is: the great thing about a big bump is that a bigger bottom doesn’t actually look as big as it should do, neither do love-handles – everything else but the bump sort of pales into insignificance.
ASOS do a few styles in this bardot dress – they’re great little cheap ‘n chic buys, I think. The blue spotty one is also brilliant, alas not in the sale. Still, it’s hardly Balmain prices!
