Pixi Beauty

pixi succulent lip twinA few weeks ago I popped into Pixi, just off Carnaby Street in London, to meet Amanda Bell. Amanda is the very talented and lovely (and highly amusing) head makeup artist at Pixi and I wanted her to give me a natural, glowy look that I could wear for castings but easily ‘sex up’ for the evening. (I cannot believe I just wrote the phrase ‘sex up’. Somebody shoot me.)

She talked me through some of Pixi’s hero products that are perfect time-saving multi-taskers; a Nude Shade Wardrobe to brighten, define, shade or add shimmer to the eyes (or face for that matter!), a bronzing palette with built-in highlighters, and a tinted moisturiser that illuminates, provides an SPF of 20 and has an excellent concealer in the lid. There were so many brilliant products and the brushes were great too – the Eye “Lid and Crease” brush has made contouring so easy since I started using it! The Endless Silky Eye Pen has the most incredible staying power and the Succulent Lip Twin is packed full of amazing soothing and softening ingredients. Although Pixi don’t particularly ‘shout it from the rooftops’, their products are carefully formulated to include as many natural and skin-loving ingredients as possible. The skincare, available in the boutique only, is really gentle and I found that the makeup was light and fresh on my skin.

Have a look at the video – it’s a bit of a double-act, this one; Amanda shows me how to use the products and then I also try them out at home. So please excuse the to-ing and fro-ing and general crazy editing. Also the part where we are talking about Asparagus and Berocca. You can probably guess what we were referring to. (Pantone colours, obviously!) Talking of Pantone colours, check out the Fluoro Orange on my nails! I actually wrote about this very nail polish as one of my early posts; it looks amazing on tanned skin. You can see the post HERE.

Pay close attention to this little video, because one lucky A Model Recommends follower is going to be winning THE ENTIRE LOOK. I repeat, just in case that didn’t burst your eardrums, THE ENTIRE LOOK. You can’t have my actual face, obviously, but you can have the makeup on it. Details to follow before the end of the week – and yes, this one is international!
