Jeez Lousie – this mask really does do what it says it’s going to do, and more; I have used it twice now and both times it has surprised me with it’s sheer effectiveness. These Omorovicza people don’t mess about, I’m telling you – using this mask is like sending your face for a full-on, no-joke facial. To quote Cult Beauty, you shouldn’t do this mask “before a big event”. Why? Because it works so bloody well, that’s why – every impurity that you didn’t know about comes a-racing to the surface, every pimple and blemish that was hiding away suddenly pops its head up, every blotch and red mark that has ever graced your face will, without a shadow of a doubt, make an appearance.

I was seriously worried, the day after I used this mask, that I had developed adult acne. I have never had so many spots! They disappeared pretty sharpish though, and after that my skin looked and felt amazing. As well as drawing out impurities, the minerals in the mud detoxify, brighten and revitalise the skin. This is a very active, potent mask that you can definitely feel working – it tingles for the first few minutes, and then starts to tighten as it dries. After 20 minutes you rinse it off with warm water – I used a soft face mitt to gently remove it.

I love the fact that you can visibly see results with this mask, even if (for me, at least!) it’s in the form of blemishes coming up to the surface. I think that I’m going to use this mask once a month as a really thorough deep-cleansing ritual – around the time that I start to get a bit hormonal and oily-skinned. It’s so enormously powerful that I daren’t use it too regularly; I’m going to keep it in a lead-lined box fixed with a padlock! This mask costs £55 and you only need a small dollop each time, so it would easily last out a whole year, I should think. This is definitely a mask to consider if you’re into your home facials – it’s stronger and more effective than most cleansing facials that I’ve had, and it’s straightforward to use. It’s nicely scented – doesn’t smell too ‘muddy’, and the packaging is heavy and expensive; a luxurious product that packs a serious beauty punch!
