Just a little cathartic post about drinking Green Tea and then going online. It seems (and I have now done pretty extensive research upon my own person) that if one drinks Green Tea and then fires up the computer, the chances of spending lots of money are increased by around 1,287,997%. The ASOS shoe sale (50% off) has been on since yesterday, yet when I looked last night I couldn’t particularly find anything I wanted. Fast forward to this morning and I have a basket total of £596. I managed to wheedle this down to £220-ish before rashly pressing the “Confirm” button and paying via Paypal. Oh dear.
The good thing is, I suppose, that it can all go back if I don’t like it. And I am quite good at sending things back because I have the Premier service. When the people actually deign to stop by and pick up my parcels, it’s all a cinch! I can order stuff and return what I don’t like all in the space of about four working days. Thank goodness.
OK…here’s what I’ve just bought. Remember – it can all go back!
1) Chinese Laundry Studded Sandals – I like these because they’re a little bit rock ‘n roll with the studs, but the shape is quite elegant. They have a platform, so look moderately comfortable, but it’s not one of those OTT hooker-style platforms. I’m hoping that these will look chic-yet-edgy, but you can never tell until they’re on the foot! These were £98 down from £169, the page is here
2) French Sole pumps. Classic ballet pumps and a good little investment. I actually love my ones from Office, but these are a little more delicate in style. They are £57 down from £95 here.
3) Carvela Pumps – just a little bit of fun, really. They’re not leather (I usually only buy shoes made from leather or a natural material, not man-made) but they’re an inexpensive bit of glitter and sparkle for Christmas. My Christmas Day shoes. (No I shall not be going outside on Christmas Day, and if I do then I’ll put my wellies on!) These pumps were £25 down from £60 here.
4) More glitter from Carvela – the Lucy sandals. I love the black trim around the glitter, it feels very retro. The sole looks a little cheap, though, against the sparkle of the glitter (why do they not use black ever? Is there a reason for that?!) so these might be going back. Time will only tell! These are £48 down from £120 here.
