M&S Perfection Illuminating Bronzing Powder

by | Jun 3, 2010

Remember my ‘Springtime Bronzers’ feature? I have just realised that whilst I’ve been oh-so-conscientiously testing them all out, Summer has arrived! Oh well. Time flies when you’re…testing bronzers. I have one more to squeeze in before the sunshine really gets going and everyone turns into Bronze Goddesses; this is the Illuminating Bronzing Powder from M&S Perfection. An unusual choice for me, as I have never really played about with M&S make-up before, but I was very pleased with the quality of this one. The shade that I tried was Sun Gold, and it looks much deeper in the photograph than in real life. (For a truer idea of shade, watch the video – in which I apply the bronzer very haphazardly all over my face, and talk a lot.) There’s an even paler shade, called  ‘Sun Bronze’.

Sun Gold has a lovely smooth texture and applies very well; the shade is subtle and, just like it says on the tin, ‘illuminating’. The formula doesn’t crumble and fly around all over the place like some bronzers can do – it was very neat to use, even with the actual bronzer ‘pan’ being almost flush with the compact. Nice sized compact with a large mirror inside, always a bonus, especially as I always end up doing last-minute make-up on the tube, en-route to castings. I really like the effect of this bronzer; it’s really buildable and the gold pigment isn’t overpowering. Take a look at the video and decide for yourselves!
