Model Skincare Routine: Prepping Oily Skin

by | Oct 6, 2010

Another skincare routine for you; this time I’m looking at some of the products that I use in the morning on oily skin. As I mention in the video, it’s so important to treat oily skin the right way – the products need to be gentle and non-stripping rather than over-the-top astringent. A little side-note at this point: this is not how I treat acne, or a guide to treating acne; I haven’t ever suffered from acne, and have no real knowledge of this particular area. I wouldn’t want to give you the wrong advice, and so if you suffer from occasional breakouts, then I’m your woman – if you have acne, then I would refer you to the King of Skin (does that sound rude?) Mr Skin Care for Men. He knows his stuff and there’s plenty of great advice about caring for acne-prone skin. But without further ado, on with the show!

The hero of the day in this video is probably the Clear Prep from Cover FX. I was lucky enough to go to an event recently and have an entire flawless base created using Cover FX products. They have been designed to camouflage skin conditions but also treat them at the same time. So the Clear Prep primer mattifies oily t-zones and makes skin makeup-ready, but also contains an anti-acne treatment to prevent those oily-skin breakouts! It’s one of Cover FX’s original bestselling products, and a bit of a staple product for anyone who dreads putting makeup on over skin that feels as though it’s about to burst into spots.

There’s a little ‘run down’ of products used beneath the video section. Enjoy! (If it’s possible to ‘enjoy’ a video about oily skin!)

(Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask, £19; Clarins Water Purify Cleanser, £17.50; Alpha-H Age Delay Eye and Lip Cream, £32; Clinique All About Lips, £15; Madara Deep Moisture Gel, £23; Chantecaile Water Flower Fluid, £55; Aromatherapy Associates Orange Flower Mattifying Moisturiser, £40; Cover FX Clear Prep, £35.)
