I knew that I was in trouble as soon as I unscrewed the lid from Emma Hardie’s Body Butter. Actually, I knew I was in trouble before that, probably before I had even touched the pot, because Emma Hardie has never failed to impress me with her products. (Read the Moringa Cleansing Balm review here and the Lighter Lotion review here.) They are always beautifully fragrant and luxurious, real treatments rather than just ‘slap it on’ products. Rich, unctuous formulations that leave your skin feeling properly pampered.
Emma Hardie’s Lift and Sculpt Body Butter is no different to the facial range – rich, luxurious and with the most incredible fragrance. The butter is so thick that it’s an effort to pull off the protective inner lid! The firm texture really forces you to spend a bit of time massaging, which (I think!) is the intention. And it’s certainly time well spent – your skin is left really well moisturised (this is great if you suffer from terribly dry skin), and the effort makes you feel like you’ve done a little bit of exercise too! Bonus…
So now, dangerously, I have another Emma Hardie favourite. One that needs to be “applied liberally all over the body”. Oh dear. Thank goodness a little goes a long way!
(You can prolong the ‘life’ of your body butters, I have found, by always applying them when your body is warm – straight out of the bath or shower – and your skin is very slightly damp. It seems to melt any oils in the formula and help the butter to spread a little more thinly. So avoid applying your body butter in the freezing cold guest bathroom at your Auntie Edna’s house!)
