You may or may not know about my Rose Obsession. It has been going on for quite a number of years – although I think I may well “out-rose” myself soon, the amount of rose-scented product that I have scrubbed, bathed and slathered myself in recently. You’d be surprised at just how many different version of rose there are – we’re talking hundreds. All have a slightly different quality – earthy and organic, sweet and synthetic, vibrant and sherbetty – all are, in my opinion, delicious.
Through all of my product trials, however, I don’t think that I have ever come across a rose shampoo. Unless I have forgotten it? In which case, it can’t have been that great! Lavera’s Rose Milk Repair Shampoo was a lovely surprise to the senses when I lathered it up – not overpowering, not musty, just very fresh. The formula didn’t leave my scalp dry or tight and I didn’t get the dreaded flakes afterwards! Only to be expected though, as Lavera use organic ingredients and keep everything as gentle and natural as they can. There’s no SLS so it won’t strip out your colour or irritate your scalp and you don’t need very much product to get a good lather. Just make sure (as with most non-SLS shampoos) that you soak the hair with water absolutely thoroughly. Drench it.
The matching conditioner and treatment are also lovely, but it was the shampoo that particularly interested me – I always have an eye out for gentle, non-stripping shampoos!
