Lanolips Golden Ointment Tin

Beauty Review and Tips

A little tin of absolute beauty. For those who dislike the pots of Vaseline (or petroleum jelly in general) Lanolips’ Golden Ointment version is an absolute dream. I’d actually opt for Lanolin over petroleum jelly on any day of the week, no contest – I feel as though Vaseline just sits there, inert, and doesn’t actually do very much in the longterm. The effects of lanolin feel more longlasting and….I dunno….active? I’ve talked about lanolin-based products before – Dr Lipp’s balm (retro post here) and Lanolips in a tube – they are brilliant for forming a kind of waterproof seal over the skin. Great for chapped or very dry skin – knees, cuticles, lips. (Be careful using it around your face if you suffer from breakouts.)

Lanolips’ Golden Ointment contains Manuka Honey as well as over 60% medical-grade lanolin – if you want an even purer hit of lanolin, opt for the 101 Ointment. There’s no real benefit that I can see from putting the Lanolips in a tin, but it looks pretty and I know that people love their tins of stuff! Personally I prefer a tube, and if you do too you can find that version here. If you want a pretty, vintagey tin (would make a nifty little stocking-filler, would it not?) then you can find that at Victoria Health
