Yesterday I went to the press preview of Karl Lagerfeld’s photographic exhibition, The Little Black Jacket. As expected, it was chic and beautiful and effortlessly cool – the portraits were of models and actors and all sorts of people, all wearing Chanel’s classic black jacket. A nice idea, I think – it shows off the sheer versatility of a classic piece of fashion. I have always wanted a Chanel jacket like this one, it’s definitely on my wishlist of iconic things. (Others include a Maxmara winter coat and an Herve Leger bandage dress, just in case you were wondering!)
I am giving away my posters that I picked up from the exhibition – there are three altogether and they are really very cool! If you want to see them and register your interest then you can find them on my vlog channel, so hop on over there and subscribe. There’s some shaky footage of the exhibition too (when will I learn that iPhone video is rubbish?) and some more pictures of the gallery space.
The Little Black Jacket exhibition is at the Saatchi Gallery, which is just off the Kings Road in South-West London. The nearest tube station is Sloane Square, but if you want to be properly Chanel about it, you should really arrive by black cab, wearing impossible heels and a slick of Rouge Allure lipstick!
