How to Choose a New Hairstyle

how to choose a new hair style

I’m considering (possibly unwisely) having my hair cut. I always want to get my haircut once I’ve grown it long, it’s a vicious cycle that I fear I’ll never really escape. I get easily bored with my hair and I’m also terrible at making the effort to style it, so when it’s long it either just hangs there like curtains or (most often) sits on top of my head in a messy bun. Nothing wrong with either of those hair-modes, it’s just that I’d like to have something that’s a little more…I don’t know. My brain is screaming the words “TIME-CONSUMING!” and “TEAR-INDUCING!” at me, because it remembers each and every time that I’ve had shorter hair, but my heart is whispering “stylish” and so stylish is what I’ll settle on. I want to have something a little more stylish.

If you want to come along with me on my weird, possibly stressful hair journey then you can begin by watching the video below (or here, if you’re on email) entitled “how to choose a new hairstyle”. I’ll show you a few pics of how I want my hair (roughly) to be, and also talk about what I like and don’t like about certain styles that I’ve had. The next videos in the series will be discussing colour and cut and include interviews with the colourist (John Spanton, of course!) and hair stylist (to be confirmed.)

If you’re thinking of a new style, then have a watch of this first. It’s a very oversimplified video about choosing haircuts, but at least it gets you thinking a little about what you do and don’t want. Oh, by the way, if you’d like to subscribe to my Youtube channel then please do! I’m very close to having 100,000 subscribers now so every little helps and I do like a good rounded number like that!
