I’m in Dubai and as it is nice and sunny I’m in full-on summer makeup mode. I’ve been cracking out all of the lip colours that I didn’t get around to wearing earlier this year, the first (and favourite) of which is Lancome’s Absolu Velours in 362, “de Peche”.
If you haven’t yet tried the Velours lip colours from Lancome then I must urge you to do so; they give the perfect matte finish with a single coat. Unusually, for a matte product, you can also sheer them out a little by patting the lips with a fingertip, giving an almost “milkshake” pastel effect. In the top photo I am wearing one very quick coat – it looks as though there’s a sheen to it but it’s actually just because the finish is so very smooth! It’s very matte and velvety up close.
My peachy-pink shade lasted really well, even in the heat – there was still a slight corally tinge to my lips after cleansing, so I can safely say that l’Absolu Velours has good staying power. It’s also very easy to get a neat application using the tip of the “doe’s foot” applicator – some people hate this type of applicator but I think that they’re great! You get a large surface area (the spade-shaped side) to whack on the colour but you can use the point to line and define.
Anyway, back into the sun for me – I’m making the very most of this hot weather before my return to the bitter reality of the British Winter. You can find Lancome’s matte lip colours at counters nationwide, or, if you know which shade you like, at FeelUnique.com with free delivery here.
