Another nice shampoo for those of you on the continuous hunt for SLS- and SLES-free products; Happy Hair Days Thickening Shampoo. This one lathers amazingly well, has a really zingy and revitalising smell and the formula itself feels cool and refreshing on the scalp. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling squeaky and ‘stripped’ – once dry, my hair is just shiny and rather bouncy. This shampoo doesn’t declare itself to be ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ but the formulation does feel gentle and is free from parabens, mineral oils and (as mentioned) SLS.
I had a slight problem with the conditioner in that I simply could not rinse it enough to get rid of the oily feeling that it gave my hair. I’ve had this problem with loads of conditioners, including one from Korres, and I think that it could be because of my hair type (lots and lots of fine hair!) rather than a particular problem with the product. It smells invigorating and fresh, just like the shampoo, and the thickness of the formula seems spot-on, but it was a little heavy for me.
I like the shampoo so very, very much that I’m going to have to try out some different conditioners from ‘Happy Days’. I have slight ‘haircare OCD’ in that I like to have matching shampoo and conditioners from the same brand even though I often don’t use them together! What a weirdo! I have my eye on the Marshmallow and Coconut Colour Care products – they sound amazing!
Happy Hair Days Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner are currently on offer in Sainsbury’s for £2.66 each instead of £3.99.
