Glossybox: September

by | Sep 14, 2011

Glossybox: SeptemberI’ve had a sneak preview of the September Glossybox and it looks as though it’s another winner, if only because one of my favourite eye creams (StriVectin-SD) is in there! There’s also a mini Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse, a full-size L’Oreal Mythic Oil (worth £11.95) and a sample vial of Mary Greenwell’s fragrance, Plum. The cost of the box (£12.95) is more than justified by these products alone, but then Glossybox throws another prize into the mix: an ‘HD Brows’ eye brow palette. I very rarely watch TV, but I am told that HD Brows have featured on various programmes and there’s a bit of hype surrounding them, so I was pleased that it was included because it’s something that I probably wouldn’t have ever thought about testing!

Which brings me onto my Glossybox pros and cons musings. Pros include the fact that you get to try out new products without the hassle of having to procure samples from frosty sales assistants and the fact that often these samples are not samples at all but huge whopping great products! Some of the time, they are products that you’d never have thought of looking out for yourself, or they are brands that you’d never have known about had they not appeared in your monthly delivery…so there’s a downside to that too, I suppose, which is that some of the time they will be products that you don’t like. And if in the unlikely event that you hated them all, £12.95 would be quite an expensive ‘surprise package’!

Are there a lot of Glossybox subscribers reading? How are you getting on with yours? Good? Not so good? Let me know in the comments!

I’ll be reviewing some of the products from this month’s Glossybox in separate posts; most likely the Mythic Oil and the HD Brow kit. I can most thoroughly recommend the StriVectin and the Nuxe oil already!

(UPDATE: Almost forgot: one little thing that I had overlooked before now, which is that on the info card inside the box, you get a list of the products included and a discount code for each one in case you want to buy the full size! Some of the discounts are pretty good – 20% – so that’s another little added bonus.)
