Omorovicza Balancing Moisturiser[“Oh. Bleeding Nora. I forgot to do a Friday Flash Review. Quick, I’ll do one now and post it up and nobody will notice. Sshh.”]

“Friday Flash Review time everyone! Another rambling stream of consciousness for you to endure. Today, said stream of consciousness meanders into and around the subject of Omorovicza’s Balancing Moisturiser. I like Omorovicza – their deep cleansing mask is one of the most effective ‘home facial’ products I think I have ever used!

What does it say on the back of the box? Light and soothing, this balancing moisturiser absorbs instantly and regulates the production of sebum by the skin; ruby crystal adds radiance to the dullest of complexions. Hold on a pretty little minute; a cream that targets oily and dull skins? That’s pure genius! Usually oiliness is dealt with by mattifying and taking away the shine – are you telling me that this will stop my oil spill and brighten me up? (Why am I talking to a box?)

Bottle: heavy and pleasing. Glass. Pump-action. (Now I’m Gordon Ramsay.) The moisturiser is more of a fluid than a cream, although it’s not runny. Smells lovely – Rosemary, hint of Jasmine somewhere in there? Interestingly, this is by no means an ‘oil-free’ formula, yet it does do a great job on oiliness. I want to say that it mattifies effectively, but I can’t, because it doesn’t; the skin feels matte, but looks utterly radiant. Which must be the ‘ruby crystal’ at work. What a clever little idea! Get rid of oil, but add a brightener – why wouldn’t oily-skinned people want bright skin too?

Omorovicza’s Balancing (and brightening!) Moisturiser is £74 from Omorovicza.
