I’m knee-deep in fake snow and I must say, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at A Model Recommends HQ! I have to start my festivities a little earlier than most because of the Christmas Gift Guides, but I actually like having those extra couple of weeks to feel nicely festive and build up a bit of anticipation! Pre-Gift Guide era, Mr AMR and I used to buy a tree on Christmas Eve (usually ending up with the sorriest looking piece of timber in the world!) and so things are a lot more jolly chez nous.

Whilst preparing for the Gift Guides, I spotted some brilliant, brilliant homeware. I have something of an unhealthy obsession with Graham & Green – a peek into my downstairs cupboard would reveal a box full of lamps that are waiting to be fixed to the walls! If you don’t want to be gifting beauty and pampering products this year (if you do then boy, you’re in for a treat with this year’s gift guides!) then the following would make wonderful, quirky presents…

Gun mugs. Bang bang! (Shall I stop with the noises now?) Surely the coolest, best novelty mugs in the world? I would absolutely have these on my little display shelf – they’re more like sculptures than cups. I think that they would fit my retro house very well indeed! Good stocking filler for the man who has everything – they are very 007 in a seventies way…

And finally, what festive house would be complete without a pair of feathery angel wings artfully hanging from the front of the wardrobe door? I love these – they have a distinct vintagey feel. £22 from Graham & Green
