Executive Decisions!

by | Aug 16, 2011

After careful consideration of the feedback from Sunday’s post (thanks for all of your emails and comments!) I have made an executive decision about post times and email-sending times that I hope will benefit the majority of readers. It seems that many of you like to read new posts on the way to work (commuters!), lots of you prefer to browse over lunch and some look forward to their email coming in the evening when the kids have been put to bed. Now, to me, the most sensible thing would be if the posts were published first thing in the morning (at 7am, say) and the email went straight away. People who like to look at posts early would then have something to look at, and ‘later’ people will have the email waiting for them in their inbox for evening perusal. Let’s see how this goes!

I can only foresee one problem, which is this: every now and then I like to write a post in the afternoon – perhaps I’ve just got back from a brilliant launch or I hear about a new, amazing offer. I like to write it straight away and get it published, but email subscribers won’t get that post until the following morning. Do we see that as a big disadvantage? I kind of see it as a small price to pay to keep everyone happy – early birds and night owls!
