Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash

by | Jan 19, 2011

I have been using this facial wash for over a week now, and I can’t believe that I have only just found out about it. It’s pretty dear for a facewash (£27.60) which is probably why I have ignored it in the past, but this month you get a free full-sized Balancing Lavender Toner with it, worth £19, which makes it infinitely more palatable.

This wash is so much more than just the usual soapy, foamy, rinsey cleanser. It’s a bit like a facial ‘peel’ (sounds gross, isn’t) where enzymes are used to ‘eat’ away at dead skin cells. This allows, in principle, newer and brighter skin to reveal itself rather than being masked and dulled by dead skin. The Tri-Enzyme wash contains (as the name suggests!) these enzymes, but obviously you’re not leaving them on the skin for long periods of time, so you can use the cleanser as often as you want. The effect of regular use is that skin is brighter and fresher, and I have to say that I have definitely noticed a difference already.

You only need a little squirt of the Facial Wash to clean your whole face, so I can imagine that the 200ml bottle will last a good long while. It also smells great – very fruity, which makes it a pleasure to use. The dispenser is pump-action, which is my dispenser of choice for anything that is to be used near a sink – I can’t stand having bottle tops and tube lids sliding into the basin every three seconds.

This beats the standard ‘mid-range’ wash-off cleanser hands-down; not only does it cleanse amazingly well, it doesn’t leave the skin too tight and it most definitely has a brightening effect over time. I have been using a flannel to remove my wash, as I am currently having to wash my face over the kitchen sink (bathroom still non-existent) amongst the pasta drainers and frying pans and what-not. So the flannel just makes life easier. And I’ m guessing that the flannel action is potentially having an extra-exfoliating effect? Who knows..

This is well worth grabbing whilst the Spa Duos offer is running – the Balancing Lavender Toner is lovely to use last thing before bed, for obvious reasons, and it comes with a handy spray dispenser so that you can use it as a spritz as well as swiping over the face with cotton wool pads.

Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash Duo is £27.60 (saving £19) or £27.60 for the face wash alone. So that’s a no-brainer. Offer ends 31st January 2011.
