Daniel Sandler: Waterbase Foundation and Watercolour Fluid Blush

by | Feb 2, 2011

I have been meaning to make the video below for ages, but I wanted to have a good play about with the Watercolours first, because they are somewhat of a foreign texture to me when it comes to blush. Hand me a cream blush or a powder, a ‘pot of rouge’ or a Nars Multiple and I am totally at home – a potent colour that is entirely liquid takes a little getting used to.

You really only need a very tiny amount of Daniel Sandler’s Watercolour to create an instant flush or a healthy sheen. Used with the Water Brush and really buffed into the skin, it looks as though the colour is coming from ‘within’ rather than merely ‘painted’ on top of the skin. It’s a very sophisticated and professional result, and I’d say that this technique is well worth trying. Of course you can just use fingertips, but remember that you’re working with a liquid – it’s affected by gravity – and a highly pigmented one at that!

I like the Waterbase Foundation too – it blended easily and quickly and looked nice and natural. The colour-matched concealer was soft and blendable and didn’t drag the skin beneath my eyes. The Secret Blotting Powder did it’s job – took away shine whilst remaining totally invisible.

Have a look at the products on video – please excuse the giggles, I just don’t know what happened there. Shopping list below the video pane, as per usual!
