Mulberry Bayswater Silky Snake Bag. (And Mr Bear.)

Mulberry Bayswater Silky Snake Bag. (And Mr Bear.)

In case you haven’t heard me harping on: this is my latest luxury acquisition. The Mulberry Bayswater in Silky Snake Print. A timeless classic with a modern, unusual twist and I am absolutely over the moon with it! Mulberry have got things just right with the Bayswater style, which is probably why it’s a constant bestseller – though you can’t really use it as a shoulder bag, it looks chic and sophisticated slung into the crook of your arm and makes you feel extremely ladylike!

I have had numerous envious stares over the past few days – I think that the snakeskin effect must make this look far more expensive than it actually is. I mean, it is expensive, but it’s not in the realm of some of the more unusual finishes. It was £950, but you can find it in the sale for £760 now (ain’t that always the way?!).

I got mine from Lux in Bath – Rach at Lux is a very good friend of mine and she always has the pick of the best shoes and bags! She has just started her summer sale, and though there’s no online shop you can check out her Facebook Page or get the shop details on the website here.

I’m building up a collection of Mulberry bags – some are far more “successful” than others with regards to the amount that I use them, but all have been brilliant investments. I still regularly use my Phoebe bag that I got about eight years ago! I might do a “collection” video soon – it has been requested. In the meantime, you can see my new bag “in the flesh” alongside the delectable Mr Bear in the vlog below!

Surprise Polaroids on Google Images!

Surprise Polaroids on Google Images!

Fashion Model I am at a total loss as to when these polaroids were taken! I absolutely love the outfit! It’s a shame that I’ve kind of shrunk that skirt – maybe I’ll dig it out and see if I can re-shape it. It’s weird though; I have a complete memory fail when it comes to these photographs. I was Googling myself to find a picture of my nose (don’t ask) and up came these – I thought hey-up, cheeky – what are you doing on my images page? And then I realised that it was, in fact, me.

These pics are from the polaroid page of one of my foreign agencies – MD Management in Germany. Have a little look if you like, I’ve linked below. It’s quite a slick portfolio, I like it a lot!

MD Management

(Don’t believe everything you read about my measurements, by the way. Wink-wink nudge-nudge. They are circa 2001!)

Shirt is from Abercrombie and Fitch. Shoes were from Dorothy Perkins, I think… Skirt was Whistles. Watch by Rolex. Little necklace was from Start London. Can’t remember what pants I had on, but if it comes back to me I’ll let you know. (Joke.)

I think, for these polaroids, I must have been told to look ladylike. Because usually I’m in jeans and a vest top. Maybe I should do a little post or video about what to wear for model polaroids – lots of people have asked and it’s easier to show rather than tell… I’ll add it to the list!

Old-School Glamour 2: Lancome and Jimmy Choo!

Old-School Glamour 2: Lancome and Jimmy Choo!

A Model RecommendsAnother “old-school” glamour photo for you before the full-length video comes out. (The first one posted last week and featured YSL and Polaroid.)

This time I’m in Lancome’s Miss Coquelicot and Jimmy Choo’s Justine Sunglasses. I managed to smudge the lipstick as I was filming, so it’s a bit “hazy” down one side – ever the pro, I tell you, ever the pro.

The Jimmy Choos are approximately €220 from JimmyChoo.com and the Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick is £21 from HouseofFraser.co.uk

Getting ready for the Polo – and more pics of Kate!

Getting ready for the Polo – and more pics of Kate!

Sorry to those who are bored of my Polo pics – I would have just put everything up at the same time but I have been away so much that it’s been impossible to get sorted! The video below the photos is a vlog with some footage from the Audi Polo event and some film showing what I did with my hair, what I wore, etc etc. I also did a makeup tutorial because it was quite a nice natural look with just a bit of added glam – I’ll be posting that up shortly. There are a couple of products used that some have been asking after, so hopefully it will be helpful!

Anyway, many thanks to HRH, Mr AMR, for inviting me as a guest (I would have been incredibly cross had he asked anyone else, let’s be honest! It might have been grounds for divorce!) and thanks so much to the people at Audi who make it all happen. I had a great day and a good catch-up with friends.

Old-School Glamour: YSL and Polaroid!

Old-School Glamour: YSL and Polaroid!

Model Ruth Crilly

A little taster of a video that’s going to be winging its way to you quite soon – it’s all about old-school glamour! In this photograph I am wearing the utterly marvellous YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in shade 20 and a pair of Polaroid Donna sunglasses.

For some reason I feel a LOT braver with my lip colour choices when I’m hiding my eyes behind a pair of sunglasses – I think that usually I feel as though my eyes ‘disappear’ when I’m wearing bright lipstick, so this is the perfect solution!

The YSL Glossy Stain is brilliant – amazing staying power and the strangest, lightest texture! You have to apply two or three coats to get the very best wear, but once it’s on, it’s ON. It’s almost like car paint for the face! There are a few different bright red shades – if you prefer a pinker undertone then shade 10 is the red for you.

The Rouge Pur Couture (shade 20) is £22.50 with free delivery from FeelUnique.com

and the sunglasses are £79 from Polaroid.co.uk!

Outfit of the Day: Paris Tuxedo Leggings!

Outfit of the Day: Paris Tuxedo Leggings!

Where am I and what have I been wearing? I knew that was the question on all of your lips!

I was in Paris doing something top secret and now I’m in Hamburg shooting Freundin magazine. It’s all go, I tell you.

Anyway, I just wanted to get this “outfit” video embedded before I forget to do it! It was my outfit that I wore in Paris to do said top-secret mission and also to go for a posh dinner. I’m wearing my Current/Elliott Tuxedo leggings which were one of the best purchases of 2011. SO comfy, but so chic with that silky stripe down the sides! Paired with a Reiss top, Joseph leather jacket and the trusty LK Bennett shoes. (I know I wear them all the time, see video for acknowledgement!)

Remember that you can subscribe to the “vlog” channel (which is still in its infancy) and the videos will appear in your Youtube inbox. Or something. Link is here: Model Vlog Channel

Sorry about the index thumbnail for this post, by the way (on the homepage) – it’s sickeningly sweet and twee. I look as though I’m having far too much fun!

Model Style: What I Wore in LA!

Model Style: What I Wore in LA!

For those of you who wanted more “outfit of the day” posts, here’s one big jumbo video that should make you very happy! I recorded my outfit each day in L.A. on video, and I’ve cut them into one film. It’s only a few minutes long, but really – how much can I chat about an outfit?!

Those who loved the Polaroid sunglasses that I featured a couple of months ago: they are now available online. They are called the “Sophia” frame and the link is here: www.polaroidsunglasses.co.uk

Blimmin’ bargain at £79, I say. The lenses in them are incredible!

I’m not sure that much else in the videos is available now – the sandals featured in front of the Hollywood sign are by Sam Edelman and you can still get these, albeit in a different colourway. If you ever see my Zara dress (with the frilly bottom half) on eBay in your size then seriously, snap it up – it’s such a cute little number! The H&M one (shown above) was an absolute steal (not literally) last summer – I hope they do this style again in some different prints. It’s an amazing beach cover-up!

(Daily Fix subscribers may need to click through on the video to watch it.)

My Best Travel Tip EVER. Perhaps.

My Best Travel Tip EVER. Perhaps.

(Please excuse the rather odd photo. You’d be surprised at how hard it is to take a photo of your chest area with no help; especially with a flash. Especially wearing a crop-top. Everything goes very…see-through.)

This is, ladies and inevitable gentlemen who have been enticed to the page by a totally unsexy picture of a crop-top, possibly my best travel tip to date. And it is this: wear a crop-top, not a bra. I’m aiming this tip at the women readers, by the way – if you’re a man, don’t wear a crop-top or a bra. There’s no need. Unless your moobs are particularly substantial and swing about like proper breasts.

Ladies: why would we need to wear an underwired bra when flying? There is no need! Not for long-haul flights! It suddenly dawned on me a couple of weeks ago that for years I had been suffering on planes, tossing this way and that, trying to sleep as the underwire in my bra poked me in the armpits and various other less comfortable places. But why do I need to support my boobs when I’m in a lying down position, thought I, and then the crop-top, beloved apparel of the pre-pubescent, popped into my head.

Rather than go utterly (udderly) bra-less, why not meet half way? Why not compromise? A soft, non-wired item of clothing that has no sharp bits, no clasp, no itchy hooks that dig into your skin, no plastic strap adjusters that make marks on your shoulders. Ah, the crop-top. Innocent, cotton, breathable, malleable… It may not hoist the ladies up to your chin, but it’ll stop them saying hello to your knees (unless you’re very large) and by GOD does it make sleeping on an aeroplane that much more pleasant!

So there. Wear a crop-top to the airport, get on that flight and snuggle up. If you’re in a tracksuit and slippers, all the more fun – you don’t have to board in them, if you don’t want to, pack them in your carry-on luggage and change in the loo. Gross, but necessary.

Jimmy Choo 24:7 Stylemakers – Win a Choo Wardrobe!

(Just a bit of gratuitous shoe porn for you there!)

Today, Jimmy Choo launch their 24:7 Stylemakers website. For anyone who’s into their fashion, likes to be inventive with their styling or simply loves nosing about in other people’s wardrobes, Stylemakers is going to be an absolute DREAM!

The website is an interactive gallery of glossy fashion pics uploaded by women around the world that you can browse and then share or save any looks that you find inspirational or fancy copying. Jimmy Choo categorise each photo and make suggestions for their own products that might be similar or work well with the outfit shown and then you can browse or shop for those products if you’re feeling spendy!

The best part is that ANYONE can upload their photo! (Perhaps Auntie Marge in her dressing gown and rollers might not pass moderation, Choo are trying to keep it quite Vogue-ish and chic!) You just login at www.choo247.com and upload to the gallery, then you can share your look on Instagram or Twitter or what have you. If you post your photo before June 6th 2012, you’ll be entered to win a Choo 24:7 Wardrobe.

Be still my beating heart.

Yes, I said a CHOO WARDROBE! (N.B. not an actual wardrobe, as in the thing that you can climb into and pop out the other side into the land of Narnia. There’s no Mr Tumnus where Jimmy Choo’s involved!) A 24:7 wardrobe consists of SIX pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes and a bag. Whoo. Yes please.
