I’m not overly fond of lip ‘plumpers’ but this one is a little different. Becca Lip Plumping Moisture Gloss doesn’t try to burn my mouth off with what feels like a kilo of concentrated jus de habenero pepper and I thank it for that. I don’t particularly want to look like a blow-up sex-doll anyway, thanks very much, so the softly-softly approach is fine by me. That’s not to say that it doesn’t tingle a little, I’ll be honest, but it doesn’t have that ‘blow your head off quality’ that many I have tested have. The effects of this are subtle but most definitely there – the sophisticated finish also helps aid the illusion of fuller, poutier lips. I like the rather unusual tube, which has a sponge applicator in the lid – it looks chic and unassuming. The gloss is scented with what I think is vanilla, but can’t be sure because I have just been to take the kitchen bin out and all olfactory bets are off.
