Barefoot SOS Rescue Cream

You know how I love a multipurpose balm – I’ve reviewed quite a few on here now. They’re great for chapped skin, chapped lips, little scrapes and bruises, scabby elbows and knees, windburn, sunburn and just about any little skin annoyance you can think of. The only thing they are not good at, however, is larger areas. You wouldn’t want to cover your entire face with Liz Earle’s Superbalm or grease-slick your body with a coating of Antipodes’ Skin Saviour! For a start, they’re not a pleasant texture for all-over use, and secondly, they’re often a little overpowering on the old essential oil scents!

So, glad I’ve found Barefoot’s SOS Cream. It’s slightly heavier duty than a regular moisturiser, and you would want to tread very carefully if you had oily skin (avoid the T-Zone like the plague) but as a winter-skin-rescuing face treatment this is just brilliant! It can be used on face or body (though I’d say it’s a little high on the price-per-ml front to use as a regular body lotion!) and on any age of human bean from babies upwards. Very, very useful to have around.

I have been using it as a lighter alternative to a facial oil because my skin has been extremely dried out from weeks of lying in bed with the central heating cranked up! It seems to be a little more ‘understanding’ than an oil – I haven’t yet broken out or had any near disasters around my oilier ‘zones’, I just find it very calming and pleasurable to use. There’s chamomile and aloe to soothe and macadamia moisturise as well as Omega fatty acids to help the skin retain moisture – overall, a very nice cream, I think!

The 50ml size is £10.50 delivered and the 25ml is £5.95, also with free worldwide delivery, both from lookfantastic.com
