OK, here we go with what might be the most indulgent product that I have ever featured on A Model Recommends: posh ice cubes for your face. Anne Semonin’s Express Radiance Ice Cubes have been formulated with red micro-algae (amongst other ingredients) that boost skin radiance and improve the elasticity of your skin. I can vouch for the fact that these cubes definitely boost radiance – though I suspect the fact that you’re rubbing ice all over your face helps to tighten up the skin and give it a bit of a flush!

You get 8 ice cubes in a pack, and obviously you store them in the freezer ready for when you need to use them. There’s a certain, very particular situation when these come in useful, but my Mum has banned me from talking about hangovers, so I can’t tell you what the situation is… You take the ice cube out of the little tub and wrap it in the piece of gauze (supplied) before rubbing it all over your face and neck. May I suggest a vast improvement at this point, Anne Semonin people? If the size of each cube were to be halved, it would make much more sense. There’s only so much ice-cubing a face can take, and after thirty seconds or so, it gets quite boring. But you still have two thirds of a cube left, and because they’re expensive, you don’t want to waste what’s left over. Of course you could pop the remainder back in the little post and re-freeze it, but the instructions tell you not to. Cubes half the size would be perfect.

A couple of practical issues here: don’t mistake your Anne Semonin cubes for individually frozen stock cubes. Whichever way you look at it, the results would be unpleasant. Also, make sure that you’re applying the cube to absolutely clean skin. This should be the very last step in your skincare routine – in place of moisturiser. The cube helps to prepare the skin for makeup, and so you don’t need to apply any product after the Radiance Cube.

I have twice used the Radiance Cubes now, and both times I have looked instantly fresher and more glowing. The cubes are expensive – £46 for 8 – so you might want to save them for emergency situations, but if you can afford it, these would be a nice treat to take on holiday. They work wonders on jetlagged skin!
