I quickly recorded this video last night because quite a few Youtube viewers had failed to hear me say that Glycolic wasn’t necessarily the best choice of product for hormonal, sensitive teenage skin! So I wanted to clarify that and also point out that you have to be careful not to over-exfoliate. Many people don’t realise that certain products are exfoliants (enzyme washes, peels, re-surfacers) and that using them all at the same time will probably end in tears. Be careful, too, if you’re a Clarisonic user. I only ever use a gentle cleanser with it – nothing abrasive, otherwise you’re sandblasting your skin off! Don’t use the Clarisonic at all before using a peel, overnight resurfacer or other exfoliant. (So that’s AHAs, BHAs, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, fruit enzymes and any other exfoliant you can think of!)
I did a post a while back about the cleansers I like to use with my Clarisonic, so have a little read of that if you’re looking for inspiration! By the way, you may notice that I have swooshy new hair – I returned to the Aveda Institute yesterday for a cut and colour. A mighty fine job they did too – next time I’ll plan to get there at lunch so that I can order my favourite tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad from Pain Quotidienne!
Random List of Exfoliants. (Sorry, I picked these out of the bathroom quickly to shoot the video, they are not necessarily “the best of” or my top picks!)
