It’s summer (or if you’re a London Underground user, ‘the annual festival of sweat’) and once again, my chemically processed, oft-heat-treated hair is turning into something resembling a hay bale. Every time a hair stylist comes near me with the straighteners, tongs or hairdryer, I wince. I can almost hear my hair crackling!

Yes, I know that I need to take a trip to the hairdressers, yes I know that there are plenty of great hair masques out there (Sebastian’s ‘Penetraitt’  being one of them, by the way!) but sometimes, you just want to wash and go. And this is exactly what I have been doing with Sebastian’s ‘Hydre’ shampoo and conditioner. My hair is really silky after the shampoo alone, which is a bit of a miracle – easy to comb through, and no straw-like ends. After conditioning, it’s totally silky. I’ve been leaving my hair to dry naturally recently (giving it a styling break!) and the Hydre has left it with a beautiful sheen. It’s pretty good at fighting the frizz, too!

I can’t remember whether I’ve banged on about this story before, but I discovered Sebastian products when I was working in New York – a stylist used Potion 9 on my hair before blow-drying, and the results were incredible. I’m going to do a separate post about Potion 9 at some point (so much to do!) and perhaps video the blow-dry results, but for now, I’ll just say that I really think Sebastian’s products are great – especially for battered models’ barnets! (That’s the barnets that are battered, not the models. Although, I’ve seen my fair share of battered models! That’s battered in a ‘got overexcited with the toxins’ kind of way, not a ‘beaten-up’ way. Oh God. Never mind).
