Everyone in talking about Tim Burton’s latest release, Alice in Wonderland. Tapping into the craze, there are plenty of cute bows, hearts and polka dots on the high street and some great Alice bands and hair pieces. Skin needs to look fresh and youthful for this look – use a make-up primer such as Chanel’s Base Lumiere to illuminate the skin and give it a little radiance. Alternatively, add a little of Mac’s Strobe Cream to your regular moisturiser or foundation – don’t add too much or you’ll look metallic!

A pretty wash of pink on the cheekbones and long, black lashes are all you need to finish the look. You don’t want too much make-up or the whole thing could end up looking a bit ‘costume party’! Hair and make-up shouldn’t compete with the outfit – think grown-up, sophisticated Alice and not Harajuku girls!
