This exfoliating cleanser is absolutely gorgeous. It’s not a mechanical exfoliant – beads and broken shells (bits of gravel, broken crockery) etc – it uses fruit acids to remove dead skin cells. No chance of scratching the surface of the skin or causing redness and irritation. It’s a pearly cream-gel that spreads easily over the skin and isn’t difficult to rinse off. It contains Papain, a papaya-derived enzyme which is used in quite a number of peels and exfoliants to refine, smooth and polish the skin.

After rinsing, my skin felt incredibly soft and smooth – ever so slightly tight, as seems to be the case with any rinse-off product that I try, but not dry or uncomfortable in the slightest. Oiliness on the T-Zone had disappeared, yet the dryness on my cheeks seemed to also have been addressed – they were softer and more hydrated! After a couple of days of use (mornings only, as I was too lazy to wash my face in the evenings this week!) my skin was really bright and flawless. Hurrah!

I absolutely adore Lisa Hoffman products, but I will admit that they are expensive to buy in this country – the Exfoliating Cleanser is $17.95 in the States, £27.50 here in the UK. That’s almost $45 at today’s exchange rate! This price-hike drives what is an affordable (actually brilliantly priced) US range into the UK’s premium beauty category, especially as the product sizes are quite ‘dainty’! This is a very small amount of cleanser – 28ml to be exact- so we are firmly in the luxury price-bracket here. If you have the cash to flash, then I think that buying Lisa Hoffman products is a great way to flash it – if you don’t, and you’re visiting the States anytime soon, then you should most definitely add this to your little list of things to pick up whilst you’re there!
