There are a few little gems in the holiday collection from NARS; the shadow in Etrusque (£16), the lipstick in Little Darling (£17) and the blush in Sex Appeal (£19.50). Etrusque is a gorgeous gold shadow with strong pigment – it’s quite a yellow gold, not one of those soft golds that just gives a ‘wash’ of shimmer. This looks great worn alone as a single colour with just a sick of black eyeliner. Very Biba-esque. (I’m not sure whether that’s a proper term, but I don’t care. I’m going to use it a lot this winter!)
The Little Darling lipstick is a sheer formula with a surprisingly strong nude colour. Swatching this lipstick briefly on skin leads you to believe that it will only give a hint of colour and sheen to the lips, but it’s actually quite opaque upon application. I adore this lipstick – it’s a cool nude that’s easy to apply and wear. The formula is moisturising and doesn’t show up every flake of dry skin or uneven lip texture – it’s definitely up there with my Tom Ford nude.
Sex Appeal is a pale peachy-pink blush and ideal for giving a healthy glow to fair skin. On medium to dark skin, I can’t see that it would be very visible, trying it over a tinted moisturiser in a ‘medium’ shade made it quite difficult to see. But on paler skin? Beautiful. Just the right balance of peach and pink tones to make this flattering on cool or warm skintones.
A makeup post simply wouldn’t be complete without one of my little videos, and so here it is!
