After three days of relentless face-stuffing in Paris, I am well and truly ready to kickstart my healthy eating plan again. Actually, there is no plan and there never really has been – I just try to not eat platefuls of pasta and macaroons and huge baguettes filled with jambon et fromage – but I have a few new cookbooks that I want to try out and I’ll be sharing some recipes on A Model Recommends, if you’re interested. I have heard the cries for “more food stuff! More recipe posts!” and am doing my best to accommodate. Expect another cooking video very soon…
And so adieu, farewell, my many-tiered Macaroon Treat. (Pictured above. Hand-modelling by Mum. And in case you’re wondering, the “treat” is the Délice Framboise from Carette in Paris. Raspberries and pistachio cream sandwiched between vanilla macaroons – it should be illegal.) It was good tasty fun, and the patisseries of yore shall remain in my dreams, but for now the kitchen cupboards are filled with packets of puy lentils and quinoa and tins of chickpeas, ready and waiting for my healthy culinary experiments.
(Cookbooks recently purchased that I’m perusing are The Medicinal Chef: Eat your way to Better Health (here) and (don’t laugh, I know that celeb things aren’t my usual style) Gwyneth Paltrow’s It’s All Good, here. Mr AMR is point-blank refusing to eat anything Paltrow but I reckon he’s going to be missing out – loads of the recipes look very tasty indeed.)
