Tonight sees the launch of new reality TV series The Face, in which three supermodels (Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg) will compete to find the next ‘face’. A face that can launch a thousand ships. No, hold on, that’s wrong: a face that will go on to front a world-renowned beauty brand. I can’t wait – I love Erin! I’m mildly frightened of Naomi! I have no preconceptions of Caroline Winberg but am ready to be wowed! Who will be The Face? What is the world-renowned beauty brand? Does the fact that it’s called The Face mean that the whole thing will be less body-focused and we’ll be spared having to watch poor bambi-legged teens tripping up and down a white-floored room with books on their heads?
Whilst I am excited for the start of this 8-week series (I have even “borrowed” Sky Living in order to stay up-to-date) I am more excited to announce that I will be working with Oral-B, sponsors of the show, in their hunt for the next best thing in beauty – the best and most beautiful smile! Never mind The Face, get polishing those teeth and you could be the winner of a 5* stay in London (with a friend to keep you company) and a professional photoshoot to capture the image that will head up the Beauty Recommended Facebook page in January. A brilliant prize if you’ve always fancied a spot of modelling and the 5* overnight stay isn’t bad, either… Six shortlisted entries will receive Oral-B goodies, including the new 3D White Luxe toothpaste and PC600 White & Clean powerbrush. (I have a review coming up on this toothpaste, it’s marvellous stuff. It should be called Superpaste, it feels like you’ve done a proper deep clean. Apparently it removes up to 80% of surface stains in two weeks! I should have done a before and after…)
Entries will be judged by Holly Willoughby (face of Oral-B’s new White Luxe campaign), Dr Uchenna Okoye (leading expert in cosmetic dentistry) and me, Ruth Crilly, your favourite lipstick-lover and cat-cuddler. All you need to do is tweet a picture of your wonderful smiling face to @OralB_UK or, if you don’t use twitter, you can email your pic to OralBsmile@beautyrecommended.com. You have until the 16th of October to get your entries in and then our six shortlisted entries will be posted on the Beauty Recommended Facebook Page on the 4th November. Fans of the page will have until the 17th November to vote for their favourite – the picture with the most number of ‘likes’ will be the winner, to be announced on the 18th!

The Promoter will not be liable for entries not received, incomplete, delayed or damaged. Last date for receipt of entries is 23.59 on Wednesday, 16th October, 2013.
All valid entries received by 23.59 on Wednesday, 16th October, 2013, will be shortlisted by a judging panel which includes Uchenna Okoye, Ruth Crilly from a Model Recommends and an independent adjudicator. They will determine the shortlist of who they consider to have the most beautiful smile. This shortlist will be showcased on the Beauty Recommended UK and Ireland Facebook page from 4th November 2013 until 17.00 on 17th November and the picture with the highest number of likes will determine the winner. The winner will be confirmed and officially announced on 18th November 2013.
The other candidates from the shortlist will be announced as runners up. In the event of a tie, the Editor of Beauty Recommended will select the winner.
There will be 1 winner (the “Winner”) of the main prize and 6 winner’s (the “Runners Up”) of the Runner-Up prizes.
The main prize covers:
A 3 hour makeover and professional photo-shoot (Winner only attendance) in London on Wednesday 11th December 2013. One photograph from the shoot will be chosen by the Promoter as the Beauty Recommended UK and Ireland Facebook cover photo for a week in January 2014
1 x night’s accommodation for 2 x people (sharing a twin room) in a 5* London Hotel the night preceeding the Photoshoot.
Travel expenses will be paid up to £300 for the winner and a friend to travel to London (receipts to be shown on day of photoshoot for promoter to reimburse in cash). All other expenses associated with the prize must be paid by the winner and the winners’ guest
Oral B products including 1 x pack of 3D White Luxe and 1 x Oral B PC600 White & Clean powerbrush to be used by the Winner two weeks before the photoshoot
The Runners-Up will each win 1 of 6 x Oral B 3D White Luxe goody bags each including 1x Oral B PC600 White & Clean power brush and 1x pack of Oral B 3D White Luxe toothpaste. Choice of products will be at the Promoter’s discretion and may vary from products featured here.
The prizes are as stated and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged. There is no cash alternative. Only one prize per household.
The winner and Runners Up will be notified by Twitter or email (depends on which method was used to enter the competition) on Monday 18th November 2013 and announced on the Beauty Recommended Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BeautyRecommendedUKandIreland ) and @OralB_UK Twitter page on Monday 18th November 2013.
The Winner and Runners-Up must claim their prize by 23.59 on Monday 25th November 2013
If the winners do not claim their prize by the deadline, then Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative Winner
The Winner and their companion must be available to attend the professional photo shoot in London on Wednesday 11th December 2013
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability due to circumstances beyond their control.
