Do you remember the Edun dress I bought from ASOS? The one I wasn’t quite sure of? Well I kept it and I love it and I wore it recently to the Chinawhite enclosure at the Henley Regatta. It was a baking hot day and actually, even though I’d picked a loose-fitting silk dress, I was sweltering hot! My hair fell totally flat and stuck to the back of my neck, my sunglasses were almost melting. Some people were wearing blazers and hats and three piece suits and all sorts!
Interesting thing about the clothing brand Edun: same founder (Ali Hewson, wife of Bono) as NUDE skincare. Edun actively works to support trade in Africa and makes regular checks to ensure that employees there are happy and cared for. I like that. The clothes are also beautifully made and crafted from great fabrics – my Mum approved of the dress, said that the silk was very fine. And my Mum knows her fabrics.
I don’t know whether or not my dress is still there (could be in the sale by now!) but I bought it from ASOS.com. You can find other Edun items there too – the brand page is here. My clutch bag is from LK Bennett and so are the shoes – my classic Idina peeptoe heels.
Here’s a snap of my lovely strawberries and cream dessert that I had at lunchtime – proper English Summertime fare. I risked getting back my dreaded acne eating all that cream – the things I do in the name of…er…research! Actually, the whole lunch was excellent – Chinawhite did a great job of hosting their first Henley event. Apparently the afterparty was amazing! I couldn’t stay late because I turn into a dormouse at midnight. (And also I had to drive north to see my friend’s new little baby.)
