This is my latest makeup look for my beauty section at The Telegraph. If you want to find out more about my contributions to The Telegraph you can visit my section on their website HERE.
This look is a recreation of the AW12 makeup seen at the Versace Couture show. It caught my eye in the press because it was so unapologetically glam. Polished, perfect skin with that shiny pout and defined cheekbones – it’s proper old-school glamour. I can’t embed the video player here on my own site so to watch the short video tutorial, open it in a new window HERE
This is probably more makeup than I would usually wear, but it is brilliant for a night out and easy to tone down or add to if you want to modify the look. Thanks to Trevor Sorbie in Covent Garden for my ever-wonderful blonde hair tones and Jo Hansford for the swooshy blow-dry! The hair really pulls together the whole polished, high-maintenance feel. If you want to have a go at this type of hairstyle, use large heated rollers wound up half-way to the roots of the hair so that the top is quite sleek and the bottom of the hair waves. I suppose you could also use one of those conical wands, though I still find those quite difficult to use. I’m always poking myself in the eye with mine!
