I am always on the look-out for great eye makeup removers; one of the occupational hazards of being a model is that your eyes can get quite sensitive and sore with heavy makeup being applied and removed constantly. By the end of the day, when you have a good cleanse, you want a formula that’s really effective at removing heavily pigmented makeup (MAC pigment, I’m talking about you!) but that’s soothing and gentle.
Talika Lash Conditioning Cleanser was recommended to me by Kathryn of Flutter Lashes fame, (see previous article) because it’s oil-free and won’t affect the glue holding my lash extensions in place. For a water-based cleanser, I was surprised at how effective it is. I tried it out on some pretty heavy duty liquid liners and some double-trouble-never-budging eyeshadows, and it worked a treat!
The formula contains soothing cornflower extract, but also silk proteins that help to treat and strengthen the lashes. I can’t vouch for the strengthening part, because my Flutter extensions are Hulk Hogan strong already, and I have no idea what my weedy natural lashes are doing underneath, but I like the idea that the formula is a lash treatment as well as a cleanser.
I think that this one’s definitely going to be a regular buy for me; an oil-free remover that can take off even waterproof mascara is a model’s dream!
